A view of Inch Island taken from Griannan Hill. (above) The waters of Lough Swilly surround the island, except for two causeways which connect it to the mainland. (Visible here as two thin lines crossing the water to the island.) The water between the two causeways, and some of the farmland just in front of it, is an area where migrating swans and geese and other water fowl land, many of them wintering there.
