Sallywood House - Stranorlar

Sallywood House is located in a rural area of the  Finn Valley in east County Donegal and is only a short drive from the twin towns of  Ballybofey and  Stranorlar. This superbly equipped and furnished house is surrounded by woods, open moor land and a landscape that is home to a wide variety of wildlife.

Local Attractions

It is 5km to the river Finn, one of the best salmon and trout fishing river in Ireland and day fishing licences can be arranged through Sallywood House. Nearby are the renowned Drumboe Woods Walks and a local walking group arrange walks every weekend to other areas of interest.

Ballybofey is home to both the County Gaelic Football pitch and Finn Harps, the premier Division Soccer Club. Sport is a veritable passion in the Finn Valley area and there are regular matches held throughout the season. The area is also home to the prestigious Finn Valley Athletics Club, renowned through out Europe for the Quality of its athletes.

The area has an abundance of wildlife and game shoots can be arranged for those interested during the months of November - January each year. Day tickets can also be arranged, through the house owner, for fishing at the famous Cloghan Lodge Fishery, situated 10km away.

Activities in the area include:

- golf at nearby Stranorlar and Ballybofey Golf Club.
- 6km to Greenacres Equestrian Centre.
