This important historical site was a centre of culture and politics during the rule of early Irish chieftains. Admire beautiful coastal scenery along the way, with benches laid out at intervals along the path, where you can catch your breath and enjoy the views, or maybe watch the sunset. After Stragill the path ends, and at this point you may want to turn around. if you are really fit you can continue on to Linsfort and Dunree
A shorter walk takes one through the lovely Swan Park, which follows the Crana River along a wooded path, from Castle Bridge to the road bridge. A little further along the river, is the Tullyarvan Mill, a renovated 19th century grain mill, which now hosts art exhibitions, music festivals, concerts, plays, and provides a venue for private functions and conferences. It also has a 52 bed hostel.
