This beautifully restored Irish farm cottage is located in peaceful countryside outside the village of Kerrykeel in North Donegal. The  cottage - with traditional thatch roof -  has been inhabited by members of the same family for over three hundred years. It has been carefully restored  in a manner that tastefully combines modern comforts with old world charm. The cottage is wonderfully sheltered by mature trees and by surrounding whitewashed farm buildings. Superb uninterrupted views of Mulroy Bay can be enjoyed from the small garden at the back of the cottage

The cottage is situated in the centre of a working farm and is surrounded by hills and lovely open countryside. A  very short drive will bring you into the holiday village of Kerrykeel - and to the shores of Mulroy Bay. A 10 minute drive will bring you to the fabulous beach and golf course at Portsalon.

The village of Kerrykeel itself is centrally situated on the Fanad Peninsula. This beautiful peninsula stretches north from the village of Milford via Kerrykeel to Fanad Head and back down to the quaint Georgian village of Ramelton via Portsalon and Rathmullan. It has some of the most remarkable cliff scenery in Ireland.  The peninsula has numerous bays, glorious beaches,  rolling hills and numerous small lakes. On the eastern shores of the peninsula the renowned Knockalla coast road offers a spectacular drive overlooking Lough Swilly and the Inishowen hills.

The spectacular landscapes of the Inishowen and Rosguil Peninsulas, the unspoilt Donegal Highlands, the magnificent Glenveagh National Park and the ancient and historic walled City of Derry are all with an hours drive of the cottage

While staying at Scotts Cottage you can walk through green fields and listen to the everyday sounds of a working farm. This beautiful thatched cottage is an excellent location for a range of activities including golf, hill walking, horse riding and those for whom such pursuits are a little energetic, it’s also the perfect location for a relaxing getaway
