Sheskinarone Cottage - Dungloe

Sheskinarone Cottage, is a lovely, compact, 2 bedroom bungalow, just 2km outside Dungloe, - known as the capital of an area of West Donegal called the The Rosses. Set in a quiet and peaceful location, but within a 3 minute drive of the town, this makes an ideal touring base for exploring the area.

Dungloe

The Irish name for Dungloe is An Clochán Liath which means Grey Stone. Prior to the construction of the bridge in 1762, entry to the town was by means of stepping over grey stones across the river.

Dungloe town has a variety of shops, traditional pubs and restaurants to cater for your needs.
It is home to the famous 'Mary from Dungloe' festival which takes place each year in late July and is very popular with summer visitors.

Surroundings

There are some 130 lakes in West Donegal, and possibly almost as many islands and rocks off the coast, with  Aranmore and Tory Island being the largest two. Needless to say this is a popular area for sea angling, - if you dont fancy the open seas, the lakes are well provided with salmon and trout. Permits for fishing and boats can be arranged, along with detailed angling maps and guides.

- Golfers have a choice of 3 golf courses at Cruit Island, Portnoo and Gweedore.

- Local Blue flag beaches within easy reach.

- Mary from Dungloe festival - plenty of outdoor events, activities and street music.

- Visit Glenveagh National Park.

- Climb Errigal Mountain.

- Go Sea Angling at nearby Burtonport or Kincasslagh.

- Visit Leo's Tavern, the home of world renowned Clannad and Enya.

- Try Surfing at the Dooey Surf School based at Dooey beach.

- Fishing in the lakes and rivers of the Rosses.

- Try some local award winning restaurants eg. Danny Minnies in Annagry.

- Walking, the area is very scenic providing an opportunity for some lovely walks.

- Enjoy scenic drives along the Donegal coast.

Travel

Donegal airport is only a 15 min drive from the cottage. There are daily flights to and from Dublin as well as a less frequent service to Glasgow.

Car hire is available at the airport.

The fully equipped kitchen, includes a gas hob and oven, microwave, washing machine, fridge, sink and kitchen cupboard units on a ceramic tiled floor.

The lounge is furnished with comfortable seating, -  2 easy chairs and a couch, a fireplace fitted with a Stanley solid fuel burner, a TV, DVD player and CD Stereo for entertainment.

  Bedrooms

There are two bedrooms to sleep up to 4.
Bedroom 1 has a double bed.
Bedroom 2 has two single beds.

  Bathroom

The bathroom has a bath with an overhead shower, a basin and a toilet.
