Simonsfield - Downings

Simonsfield is a modern 3 bedroom holiday home situated on the very scenic Rosguill Peninsula in north Donegal. The home is designed to take full advantage of the lovely views it commands over Sheephaven Bay. These views can be enjoyed from the holiday home itself and from two furnished decking areas

A Beach and Golf Resort

The holiday home is set in the small hamlet of Derryhassan approx one mile from Downings. Downings is a pleasant seaside resort that commands superb views over Sheephaven Bay towards Muckish Mountain, Ards and the Horn Head Peninsula. Downings has a fine sandy beach that is very popular for watersports. The beach is sheltered on one side by a small fishing habour and on the other side by a headland. Beyond this headland is the superb Rosapenna Golf Resort and the fabulous Tramore Strand. The Rosapenna Golf Resort has 2 championship links courses

Throughout the course of the season there are a number of festivals in the general Downings area. These include the famous Donegal International Rally and the annual sea angling festival.

Rosguill Peninsula

Downings is a very popular tourist resort with lively pubs and night-life. It is situated on the beautiful Rosquil Peninsula. This peninsula divides Mulroy Bay and Sheephaven Bay. The village is the start and finish of the world famous Atlantic Drive, one of the most dramatic and glorious scenic routes in Ireland, 14 kilometres of pure stunning beauty, cliffs, Atlantic Ocean and beautiful beaches.

In the picturesque village of Carrigart, just 3km from Downings, there is an AIRE approved equestrian centre and the PAIDI approved Mevagh Dive Centre. The tiny village of Glen on the shores of Glen Lough is 10km away. This is the location of the Old Glen Bar which is renowned throughout the region for its bar food.

Within a thirty minute drive of the holiday home there are numerous things to do and places to visit including the majestic Glenveagh National Park the beautiful Ards Forest Park and the fabulous Dunlewey Centre on the the shores of Dunlewey lough.

The holiday home has an open plan living, kitchen and dining area which takes advantage of the panoramic sea views outside. The living area is comfortably furnished and has a wood effect electric fire. There is a large screen tv with dvd player. There are board games available, as well as music and dvd libraries.

Booking deposit (non-refundable) of euro200 or stg£200 per week - with balance to be paid six weeks prior to the letting period.
