
This light filled, spacious cottage is set among mature Sycamore trees in the former grounds of Rathmullan House Hotel, an 18th century manor house located on the shores of Lough Swilly.
With plenty of open space for children and easy access to the village with all its amenities this makes the ideal venue for your family holiday in Donegal. It is only a 5 minute walk to the long sandy beach and little pier and marina which lend so much charm to the village.

Rathmullan has much to offer whether it is for a holiday packed with activities or just a completely relaxing time. The village has a pier extending into Lough Swilly and it is from here that you can catch the car ferry (June - September) to Buncrana and onwards to the rest of the Inishowen peninsula. There is a small marina attached to the pier and if you fancy a spot of sea fishing or sightseeing on the Lough there are 2 fully equipped and licensed boats available for hourly or daily hire. While in the village be sure to call and visit the Flight of the Earls Heritage Centre which tells the story of the last days of the great Irish Chieftains, O'Neill and O'Donnell.
Otway Golf Club, reputedly the second oldest in Ireland, is within short driving distance while Portsalon Golf Club is a 20 min. drive along the spectacular Knockalla Coast Road. Other activities in the area include, pony trekking at the nearby Golden Sands Equestrian Centre, and hill walking on the little country roads surrounding the cottage.
Letterkenny, County Donegal’s main town, is 20 minutes by car and has a 5 screen cinema, Arena 7 kid's adventure playground, public swimming pool, urban park, an Grianan Theatre and of course, a wide variety of shops, pubs and restaurants.

The Sycamores No.6 has 3 bedrooms and can accommodate up to 7 guests. The other 2 bedrooms are located on the upper floor and these share a bathroom.
The conservatory-style dining area of the holiday cottage fills the ground floor area with light a patio door leads to a patio area with garden furniture, ideal for al fresco dining. I travel a lot so I'm always looking for interesting places to stay - anything to avoid another carbon copy hotel - and this has got to be one of the best local travel sites I've seen. Plenty of detail, tons of photos, excellent location info and clear pricing - everything I need to make an informed call.
