Teach Caslach - Bunbeg

Teach Caslach is a beautiful holiday home located in the heart of the west Donegal Gaeltacht and only 5 minutes drive from the little fishing harbour at Bunbeg. The holiday home faces a small sea inlet on the rugged Gweedore coastline opposite the Carrickfinn Peninsula. The area around the holiday home is famed for its sheltered sandy beaches, spectacular coastline and the warmth of the welcome extended to visitors to the area.

Idyllic Setting

The holiday home itself has 4 roomy bedrooms to sleep 8 comfortably. The tastefully furnished living room has a wood burning stove. The beautifully crafted kitchen has a full range of modern cooking, cleaning and storage appliances. There is also a separate utility room and a large bathroom with bath and separate shower. There are truly amazing views and walks direct from the holiday home door. Or just pop down to the waters edge for a spot of fishing or bird watching.

In the long evenings locals and visitors gather in the villages pubs to listen to live traditional music - indeed this area is the heartland of such renowned groups as Altan and Clannad. There is a good selection of restaurants in the area such as Ostan Gweedore Teach Jack in Glassagh and Dannie Minnies in Annagry. Traditional music sessions can be found in the local pubs most nights during the holiday season.

Ideal Base to Explore West Donegal

The cottage is an ideal base to explore the natural beauty of West Donegal. Local activities in the Bunbeg area include fishing (freshwater and deep sea), golf, swimming and hill walking - Errigal and the Derryveagh mountains are only 15 minutes drive away. There are a number of fine beaches in the locality including the Blue Flag Carrickfinn Beach and the nearby Magheraclogher Strand in Bunbeg – famed for its boat scene.

A trip to one of the local islands - Gola, Tory or Inishbofin - is a great way to spend a day. Some of the main attractions in this part of Donegal include the magnificent Glenveigh National Park and the family orientated Dunlewey Lakeside Centre (Ionad Coise Locha) and the many lakes of the Rosses area.

The living room of the holiday home overlooks a narrow inlet of the beautiful Gweedore coastline near Bunbeg. The room is comfortably furnished and has a wood burning stove. For home entertainment there is a tv, dvd player and an ipod dock.

  Kitchen

The holiday home has a beautiful modern kitchen with stylish fitted units. Appliances available include electric oven, gas hobs, microwave, dishwasher and fridge freezer. A washing machine and tumble dryer is housed in a separate utility.

  Dining Room

The bright dining area is adjacent to the kitchen. It features an elegant table and 6 chairs. Just outside there is a patio area with garden furniture.

Tariff

Booking Details

Booking deposit of euro100 (non-refundable) per week - with balance to be paid six weeks prior to the letting period. 

• check in 5pm, check out 10am
• rental Sat – Sat except by special arrangement
• Cleaning: the customer should clean the house and strip beds before departure. If the customer want to avail of a cleaning service the cost is €60 payable in advance.
