Teach Ban is a spacious 4 bedroom holiday home blessed with a wonderfully scenic location on the spectacular Slieve League Peninsula in South West Donegal. Situated on a hillside above the 'Valley of Saint Columba' (Glencolmcille) the holiday home enjoys views that sweep spectacularly over this beautiful valley towards Glen Head and the restless Atlantic Ocean beyond. The rugged hills and mountains that border Glencolmcille on three sides are a walkers paradise
Less than a mile from the holiday home is Cashel - a village in the middle of the Glen Valley, referred to as "Glen" by the locals. This small community balancing on the edge of the Atlantic Ocean is known across the country for its Irish Hospitality, and particularly for its love of traditional Irish music and culture.
The village has a petrol station, 2 grocery shops, post office, folk village, woollen mill, tourist information office, restaurant, new "village cafe" and three pubs (with great fiddle music often to be found in Roarty's or Biddy's). In the nearby villages of Carrick, Teelin, Kilcar and Meaneary a selection of shops, pubs and restaurants allow you the opportunity to sample life amongst the friendly locals.
The area around Glencolmcille abounds with stunning scenery, from the spectacular cliffs at Slieve League to the deserted famine village at Port and from the beautiful Silver Strand beach in Malinbeg to the dramatic Glengesh Pass on the road to Ardara
Glencolmcille is renowned for traditional Irish music. It is home to a unique style of fiddle music which is celebrated every year with a Fiddlers Week (the first week of August) when fiddle players from all over the world converge for a week of music, tuition and craic. Féile Ghleanncholmcille is another annual summer festival when a great number of visitors arrive to join in on the festivities that include traditional song and dance, workshops and open air concerts.
At the centre of one of the largest Gaeltacht areas in Ireland, Glencolmcille is also well-known both nationally and internationally as the home of Oideas Gael, an Irish language learning Institute established in 1984 to promote the Irish language and culture
The holiday home has a bright modern kitchen that has been beautifully crafted. This well equipped kitchen features stylish fitted units with integrated appliances including dishwasher, microwave, fridge / freezer and electric oven and ceramic hob. A coffee/ cappuccino maker and a stereo system are also available.
The beautifully decorated living room enjoys superb views on three sides - views that include mountains, the Glencolmcille valley and the Atlantic Ocean. The room has comfortable sofa seating for 8 people.
The holiday home has 4 bright and comfortable bedrooms - all of which enjoy lovely views.
All bedrooms with solid wood floors, wardrobes, laundry baskets and bed side lights
