
The Barn is located on a hillside just north of the village of Kerrykeel and features an elevated deck area which affords superb views over Mulroy Bay. Portsalon Golf Course and Blue Flag beach are a 5km drive away. With the new bridge opened over the bay, the villages of Carrigart and Downings are easily accessible.
The Barn is rustic in character and features stone flag floors, arched pine ceilings and a stone built fireplace. This is the perfect spot for relaxing and visiting the many sandy beaches and superb golf courses in the area. The nearby mountains are also excellent for hill-walking.
The village of Kerrykeel itself is centrally situated on the Fanad Peninsula. This beautiful peninsula stretches north from the village of Milford via Kerrykeel to Fanad Head and back down to the quaint Georgian village of Ramelton via Portsalon and Rathmullan. It has some of the most remarkable cliff scenery in Ireland. The peninsula has numerous bays, glorious beaches, rolling hills and numerous small lakes. On the eastern shores of the peninsula the renowned Knockalla coast road offers a spectacular drive overlooking Lough Swilly and the Inishowen hills.
A 7 minute drive from The Barn will bring you to the seaside village of Portsalon where you will find a wonderful blue flag beach and a top class golf course. Portsalon Golf Club has been extensively redesigned in the last few years and is now one of the finest links courses in the North West of Ireland. In the immediate locality visit the Dolmen Celtic burial site. The ferry across Lough Swilly from Rathmullan to Buncrana is within 15 minute drive.
