Portsalon has an attractive blue flag beach as well as beautiful 18 hole links golf course .
Water sports are available at Portsalon Harbour. The beautiful Knockalla scenic drive takes you to
Rathmullan where you can take the ferry to Buncrana and the Inishowen Peninsula. Also in Rathmullan is the historic fort which is the site from which the
Flight of the Earls took place. Horse-riding along the beach is available at Golden Sands
Equestrian Centre. Fishing is popular from Rathmullan Pier as well as scuba-diving and sailing in the Swilly.
Passing Portsalon takes you along the Fanad scenic drive past the lighthouse overlooking Trialough (the 3 lakes) and leading back along the coastal road to Kerrykeel. Approximately 40 minutes drive can take you to
Glenveagh National Park, Ards Forest Park, Dunfanaghy, Marble Strand, Downings and Rosapenna.
