The Dunes - Dunfanaghy

The Dunes is a well equipped modern family holiday home.  Ideally situated between the popular seaside resorts of Dunfanaghy and Portnablagh.  Dunfanaghy is one of Donegal’s most popular holiday destinations and features many fine restaurants and pubs.  In addition there are a host of activities in the immediate area including horse riding, golfing, fishing, water sports and hill walking.

Local Activities / Attractions

For the golf enthusiast there are a number of fine link courses in the locality – including Dunfanaghy and the two famous championship courses at Roseapenna. The Dunes is opposite the fifth fairway of Dunfanaghy golf course and enjoys views of the 5th, 6th and 7th fairways from the house.

A short walk will take you to a choice of fine sandy beaches, Killyhoey strand and Portnablagh beach.  Whilst a five minute drive will have you on the famous Marble Hill strand.

The Dunfanaghy, Horn Head and New Lake area is particularly well known for its landscape, attracting birdwatchers, photographers and artists alike.  There are three natural brown trout lakes within 5 minutes of the house, as well as a wide range of sea angling opportunities.  

A little further afield is the scenic Atlantic Drive, the enchanting Ards Forest Park and the wild beauty of Bloody Foreland.

The Dunfanaghy Workhouse has recently opened a Community Playground which is open daily free of charge and its  newly refurbished coffee shop specialising in homebaked produce also boasts a new Toddler play area.

You can explore the unspoilt beauty of Donegal’s Highlands.  Within a half hour drive, you have two of Donegal’s highest mountains – Muckish and Errigal.  In addition the renowned Glenveigh National Park and the Dunlewey Lakeside Centre provide an excellent day out for all the family.

Booking deposit (non refundable) of Euro 100 per week – with balance to be paid six weeks prior to the letting period.
