This delightful and spacious holiday home has been designed to ensure a relaxing and comfortable holiday experience. It can accommodate up to 10 people in both style and comfort. Three of the four spacious bedrooms are ensuite - the fourth is adjacent to a bathroom on the ground floor. The large open plan ground floor of the cottage is tastefully decorated and furnished. The relaxing conservatory area enjoys magnificent sea views. The well designed kitchen area will ensure that your self catering experience in The Moorings will be as stress free as possible. The holiday home is situated on the stunning Rosquil Peninsula. This peninsula divides Sheephaven Bay and Mulroy Bay and contains dramatic scenery as well as many fine sandy beaches. The famous Atlantic Drive is a short but very breathtaking road around the Peninsula. The drive is only about 12km long so you can best appreciate it if you cycle or walk. The walk can be comfortably completed in half a day. The spectacular Lough Salt Drive is also close by. The natural landscape of the Rosguil Peninsula provides the basis for many of the activities that the visitor can enjoy. In addition to an abundance of golden sandy beaches there are many water based activities in the Carrigart/Downings area - including windsurfing, deep sea diving, sea angling and boat charters. There is also horse riding and hill walking. For the golf enthusiast the holiday home offers an excellent base to play some of the great links courses of North Donegal. A 5 minute drive brings you to two superb championship golf links at Rosapenna - the Old Tom Morris Course and fabulous new Sandy Hills Course. Even closer to the holiday home is the existing St Patrick's Course in Carrigart which is currently being redesigned by Jack Nicklaus. Within half an hours drive there are two more excellent courses – Dunfanaghy and Portsalon. Moving outside the immediate locality you can explore beautiful and varied coastal landscapes in such areas as Horn Head, Bloody Foreland, the Rosses and the Fanad Peninsula. The enchanting Ards Forest Park near Creeslough is well worth a visit. Moving inland you have the majestic and unspoilt Donegal Highlands where the stunning Glenveagh National Park is situated. In this area you will also find the wonderful Dunlewey Lakeside Activity Centre which provides an excellent day out for all the family. Tory Island and the ancient and historic walled city of Derry are just two of the varied day trips that can be made from the holiday home For a true getaway experience in beautiful North West Donegal look no further than The Moorings for your luxury accommodation.. |
