The Quarries - Ballyliffin

Share

A deceptively spacious cottage whose interior has been extensively renovated. The cottage is ideally suited to the larger family group having 5 bedrooms, a large dining and kitchen area, a comfortable lounge, with bathrooms upstairs and downstairs. The Quarries is bounded by wooden fencing and has a level grassed surface.  Views of the surrounding hills  and countryside can be enjoyed from most rooms of the cottage.

The cottage is within easy walking distance of all the hotels and amenities in Ballyliffin and is less than 2km from the beach. Golfing enthusiasts would especially enjoy the proximity to the very popular Ballyliffin Golf Course. The Quarries would make an excellent base for a touring holiday of the scenic Inishowen Peninsula, with easy road access to the rest of Donegal and Northern Ireland.

The Quarries is bounded by wooden fencing and has a level grassed surface. Views of the surrounding hills and countryside can be enjoyed from most rooms of the cottage.

Inishowen Peninsula

The Inishowen Peninsula, wherein the the Quarries is situated, stretches between Lough Foyle and Lough Swilly, to reach Irelands most northerly point at Malin Head. The drive round this expansive peninsula is spectacular with fine views of mountains and sea. The numerous lakes and rivers provide good game and coarse fishing. Just a few miles away is the beautiful Glenevin Waterfall with its walks and picnic area. Buncrana with its comprehensive range of shops is accessible in about 20 minutes.

In the summer months, a  car ferry   is available at Buncrana to Rathmullan across Lough Swilly, and from Greencastle to Magilligan Point across Lough Foyle. - allowing one to easily drive across the entire northern part of Ireland. Locally, attractions include visits to. Malin Head - Irelands most northerly point,  The Isle of Doagh Famine village,  The maritime museum in Greencastle, The fort at Dunree Head with its guns, the Griannan of Aileach, an ancient stone ring fort, The  walled city of Derry, which has much to offer, old and new.
