Tir nan Og near Bunbeg, County Donegal is the perfect place to enjoy a family holiday or a break with friends. Located close to, and with views of, Glenveagh National Park, Tir nan Og is situated in Upper Dore which is just over a mile from the town of Bunbeg, with its beautiful coastline.

Our house has three large bedrooms (two of which have en-suite shower rooms), a family bathroom, comfy lounge, dining room and kitchen (complete with oven and hob, washing machine, dishwasher and fridge-freezer).

Whatever takes your fancy from golf to fishing, walking to water sport, or simply relaxing in a traditional pub with a pint of Guinness, this charming area of County Donegal has it all.

Where better to base yourself as you explore what the North West of Ireland has to offer than Tir nan Og. The house is located in the popular area of Bunbeg, within the picturesque county of Donegal. It is the ideal base from which to explore the North West of Ireland.

Golf

For those interested in golf there are a number of high quality 9 and 18-hole courses within a short drive. Our house is in an ideal location to access these courses and many others (please see related links page).

Carrickfinn Beach

Carrickfinn beach is one of the eleven beaches in County Donegal to have been awarded the Blue Flag. It is an extensive sandy beach and is set in Gweedore Bay which is a Natural Heritage Area. The bay is approximately five minutes away by car.

Off the coast can be found the islands of Tory, Gola, and Inisbofin which can be accessed via a pleasant boat trip.

The area provides anglers with superb locations for salmon, trout, course and sea fishing. Permits are available locally (please see related links page).

Visitors to our house won’t be able to miss Mount Errigal, one of the highest peaks in Ireland. The mountain, surrounded by the stunning Glenveagh National Park, is a ten minute drive away. The National Park provides dramatic views and varied walks.

Local Music

The attractions of this area are not limited to daytime and there are various fine restaurants in which to enjoy a meal. In the evenings there is live music to be found in the local pubs, many of which play host to traditional music sessions throughout the summer.

The famous Leo’s Tavern - the home of Clannad and Enya - is about half a mile away. There is music on offer nightly and food is served at the bar.

The light and spacious kitchen is located to the rear of the house and features tiled flooring and a table and chairs (in addition to the main dining room). Like the lounge, the kitchen also has views of Mount Errigal.

Dining Area  Dining Area

The dining room is located to the front of the house and enjoys views of the surrounding countryside. The dining table seats up to eight people.

The living room is located to the front of the house, has an open fireplace and enjoys views of the surrounding countryside, including Mount Errigal. It is tastefully furnished with ample comfortable seating. Sky TV is available.

Bedrooms  Bedrooms

The spacious family room has both a double and a single bed and is en-suite. It is the same size as the king-size en-suite bedroom which also occupies the upper floor of the house.
