Tranquillity Cottage - Rathmullan

A superb 3 bedroom luxury self-catering cottage (sleeps seven) located in beautiful Rathmullan. This delightful cottage is ideally situated between the village’s two luxury hotels: Rathmullan House (famed for its cuisine), and Fort Royal Hotel, making it one of the most sought after areas for family holidays in Co. Donegal. The beach, the two hotels and the village’s shops and pubs are all within easy walking distance.

Rathmullan Area

Rathmullan - A charming little sleepy village, which nestles on the shores of beautiful Lough Swilly, is the perfect location to get away from it all. It's only a few minutes walk from the cottage to the fabulous 2 km. long blue flag beach of safe golden sand. The beach is fringed by Rathmullan Wood (A Nature Reserve, of scenic woodland and award winning beach / woodland walks). This is an ideal spot for just 'kicking back' and unwinding. You'll soon realise that life is done without much fuss and at a quieter pace here, and the pace is contagious! It is also an ideal location for exploring the many hidden delights of unspoiled Donegal.

The village pier extends into Lough Swilly and from here you can catch the car ferry (June - Sept) to Buncrana from where you can tour the magnificent Inishowen Peninsula.

Local Activities and Attractions

Otway Golf Club, reputedly the second oldest in Ireland, is within short driving distance while Portsalon Golf Club is a 20 min. drive along the spectacular Knockalla Coast Road. Other activities in the area include, pony trekking at the nearby Golden Sands Equestrian Centre, and hillwalking on the little country roads surrounding the cottage.

Letterkenny, County Donegal’s main town, is 20 minutes by car and has a 5 screen cinema, Arena 7 kid's adventure playground, public swimming pool, urban park, an Grianan Theatre and of course, a wide variety of shops, pubs and restaurants.
