The cottage is located in an elevated area, on a large site, in a quiet and peaceful location; with views overlooking Malin, Trawbreaga Bay, and the Inishowen Hills. Newly built, Umgall has five bedrooms to sleep up to ten adults. Two bedrooms are located upstairs, and three are downstairs. Four bedrooms each have double beds, and one has two single beds. Ablutions consist of a main bathroom and three en-suites. The main bathroom has a separate shower, toilet, basin and a large corner bath. The east facing lounge has the traditional open fireplace, and comfortable furnishings, including a TV with DVD. A large fully fitted kitchen includes a dining area with table and seating for six, and a separate utility room for the washing machine and tumble dryer. There is a patio area with furniture and ample parking. Malin is a lovely picturesque town on the north east side of Trawbreaga Bay, and is reached by crossing a unique ten arched bridge over the mouth of the Ballyboe River, as it enters Trawbreaga Bay. The town is built according to an early plantation design, with a triangular village green forming the centre. Malin has been twice honoured with the coveted "National Tidy Towns Award".
The Malin Hotel, has its own restaurant and bar, and there are two other
pubs, a diner, and a supermarket shop; - all within 5 minutes drive from
the cottage. The Banba's Crown to Hell's Hole and the Devils Arch walk, along the coast at Malin Head. On a clear day you can see Inishtrahull Island and the Scottish Coast. The Five Finger Strand Beach walk; where you can view the largest sand dunes in Europe, or experience the crashing Atlantic Surf.
The Knockamaney Bens walk; - this walk is for the more energetic,
requiring some uphill walking; but the rewards are the spectacular
panoramic views of Five Finger Strand, Doagh Island, the Inishowen
Hills, and the beautiful church at Lagg. |
