Water's Edge - Derrybeg

Recently built, this three-bed holiday home combines all the best elements of country living with modern comforts, while also taking great advantage of the surrounding scenic landscape and lovely views towards the Atlantic Ocean. The cottage is equipped and furnished to a very high standard and is located on a quiet side road adjacent to an inlet of the sea and within easy walking distance of the village centre. The rear patio area enjoy the morning and afternoon sun and is a perfect spot for savouring the delights of the west Donegal landscape.

There are many appealing features inside the house, an obvious one being the six meter long kitchen-cum-dining room painted in muted pastel shades - enhancing the overall spaciousness.
A Shaker style maple kitchen, with breakfast bar, is fully equipped to ensure you have a memorable ‘home from home’ holiday experience. In addition to a comfortable living room with open fireplace, leather furniture and solid oak flooring, the ground floor has a spacious hallway, bathroom with full bath and a large bedroom with three single beds. The two bedrooms on the upper floor are en-suite and one has views towards Donegal’s highest peak, Mount Errigal.

The Local Area

Set back off the road, the house has good parking facilities to the front and side, while the front garden has been seeded in grass. The center of Derrybeg is only a five min. walk away and here you can avail of a selection of local shops and restaurants and perhaps enjoy a traditional music seisiun in one of the many pubs. West Donegal is home to such noted traditional groups as Clannad and Altan - while in the area be sure to visit Teach Leo, home to Enya and Clannad.

When you rent a property, you can really get a feel for what life is like in that particular community. You’re using the shops and markets, talking to local people, and living as they do. A patchwork quilt of green fields and dry stone walls, Derrybeg has locals who always have time to chat, golf courses, great river and sea fishing and a beautiful sandy beach, Port Arthur, close by.
