Whitegable Cottage
is a lovely 3 bedroom holiday home situated on a hillside 2 miles from the
village of Creeslough. The elevated site of the cottage provides it with stunning and uninterrupted views of the surrounding countryside towards the North Donegal coastline – with Muckish Mountain providing a spectacular backdrop. The cottage is perfect for a self catering family holiday or a quiet country retreat.

The village of Creeslough  itself is located near the shores of Sheephaven Bay and is surrounded by spectacular coastal and mountain scenery. Mountain climbing and hill walking are popular in this spectacular landscape with Muckish,  Errigal and the Derryveagh mountains all easily reachable. The Irish word Creeslough means "The Belt of Lakes" - a reference to the many lakes that surround the village.

Not surprisingly the region is a fisherman’s paradise with trout and salmon lakes and rivers.

There are also a number of magnificent beaches in this beautiful part of Donegal - Ards, Marble Hill,  Tramore and Killahoey. Overlooking Marble Hill Strand is the superb new Shandon Hotel Spa and Wellness Centre. This modern Spa has a hydrotherapy floor and 8 treatment rooms.

Creeslough is centrally located among the main holiday resorts on the North Donegal coastline – Portnablagh, Dunfanaghy, Downings and Carrigart. In these seaside villages there are lively pubs and a good choice of restaurants.  Windsurfing, water-skiing, scuba diving, canoeing and sailing are all available in this region.

For the golf enthusiast there are four 18 hole courses in the vicinity -  one in Dunfanaghy , two at Rosapenna near Downings and one in Carrigart. Horse-riding, cycling, hill walking and painting are ever popular in this beautiful part of Ireland. A herd of native red deer roams the mountains and valleys in the nearby 10,000 hectare Glenveagh National Park, famed for its castle, lakes, formal gardens, exotic plants and rare birds - including the recently reintroduced golden eagle.

In the more immediate locality of the holiday home you will find the famous Lackagh Bridge, the historic Doe Castle and the enchanting Ards Forest Park. The historical Owencarron Viaduct is also close by
