The cottage is a neat two bedroom bungalow that sleeps up to seven (with the inclusion of a sleeper couch). It has a lounge with an open fireplace, a separate dining room, a fully fitted kitchen, a modern bathroom, an entrance hall passage and the two rear facing bedrooms. A solid fuel Stanley stove in the kitchen fires the central heating.

It is located on an elevated site known as 'Watch Hill', and is south facing with spectacular views of the surrounding countryside. Situated less than 4km to the east of Culdaff, and roughly 300m off the coastal road, along a little used farm road, it can be said to be in a quiet and peaceful location!

The surrounding area has a rich historical heritage linked to early Christian and earlier pre-Christian megalithic sites. One can find evidence and remains of old monasteries, churches and abbeys, stone crosses, stone circles, standing stones and megalithic tombs. Visit the sites of Cloncha, The Temple of Deen, and The Bocan Stone Circle. There were once monasteries at Carrowmore, Cloncha and Culdaff, suggesting that this small area of Inishowen was once a great centre of skill and learning.

Culdaff is a picturesque village set around a village green and water pump, and originally dates back to the 8th century. The existing village layout is based on an 18th century plantation design, and is built over the site of the old monastery of St. Buadan.

The present day Church of Ireland stands on the foundations of the old monastic church, and the ancient graveyard of Ardmore (opposite Mc Grory's) was also part of the same site.

The village is set on the banks of the Culdaff River, which is crossed by two stone bridges that mark the location of ancient fords that gave Culdaff its name. In Gaelic, Culdaff is "Cul da Ath", or 'the corner of the two fords'.

'McGrory's' is perhaps the main attraction in the village. Here you will find a small hotel, a fine restaurant and two pubs; - The Front Bar, noted for its fine selection of food , drink and traditional Irish Music, and the Backroom Bar, which is really more of a function room, famous throughout Ireland and beyond for its range and quality of music and entertainment. Another establishment next to the beach car park is the 'Caratra Lodge' which has a pub and restaurant.

Culdaff has a fabulous 'Blue Flag Status' sandy beach, which is about 1km in length, and lies between Dunmore Head to the east and the little fishing harbour known as Bunagee Pier, on its western side. The beach car park has a well equipped and safe children's play area next to it. Depending on wind and tide conditions, the waves approaching the beach offer great surfing. Also visit the beaches at Kinnegoe Bay, where a Spanish Armada ship sank in 1588, Stroove, at Dunagree Point, and the Five Finger Strand, west of Malin.

Some other local activities include:
Hill walking, Paint Balling, Tennis, Horse Riding - (At 2 stables in Malin), Touring and Sightseeing; to mention a few.
