Please enquire about our 2 bedroom ground floor apartment
From the outside, appearances are deceptive, as the interior space is much larger than one would imagine. The house has an upstairs floor which occupies the roof space, consisting of the landing, a bathroom and three spacious bedrooms.
Downstairs; the entrance hall leads onto a front bedroom on the left, the lounge, with an open fireplace on the right, and to the rear, a fully equipped kitchen and dining area, a utility room, two other bedrooms with en-suites, and a main bathroom.
In addition to all this; as the house is built on a sloping property, there is a lower ground floor accessible from the side and back, which contains a separate self-contained 'flat'. The property is neatly kept and well maintained. It has double glazing and oil fired central heating for the colder months, and the heating, electricity, bed linen and towels are all included.
The cottage is situated in a cul-de-sac in a quiet and peaceful location in the 'Woodlawn' residential area from which it gets its name; - and is located in Stranorlar east, approximately 300 meters from the main street, making it well within walking distance of all the local amenities, shops, pubs, etc.
As the cottage is conveniently located close to the main N15 road, which connects with Donegal Town in the west, and Castlefinn and Lifford to the east, it makes an ideal touring base for visitors wishing to explore this part of south eastern Donegal, as well as county Tyrone in Northern Ireland.
Stranorlar is twinned with its neighbouring town; Ballybofey. They are separated by the picturesque River Finn; one of the best salmon rivers in Europe.
The twin towns will allow visitors a varied choice of restaurants, pubs, shops, (including Donegal's largest department store - McElhinneys', which won the coveted 'Retailer of the year for the British Isles' in 2003.) and entertainment. There is traditional music, and festivals, and there is the Balor Theatre; Donegal's oldest theatrical venue, steeped in tradition, with a reputation for hosting top quality drama
The very large and spacious kitchen area is situated to the rear of the house, which faces south, allowing plenty of light.
The fully fitted kitchen has modern storage units, with appliances which include: an electric hob, oven and fume extractor; a dishwasher, microwave, fridge, freezer, stainless steel sink, kettle, toaster and essential crockery, cutlery and cookware.
A separate, adjoining utility room has additional storage units, the washing machine, iron and ironing board; - and there is an outside clothes line.
The west side of the kitchen has a large dining table with 16 chairs.
The lounge is a large room situated in the north west corner of the house.
On a beige carpeted floor, it has an open fireplace and comfortable seating which includes a matching set comprising a two seat couch, a three seat couch and an armchair.
There is a TV with a DVD player, as well as a CD/radio/stereo.
Oil fired central heating is included.
