Ramelton - A Heritage Town

Steeped in heritage, the village of Ramelton has managed to retain much of its charm and character  through preserving many of the wonderful historical georgian buildings that give the village a unique identity in this part of Ireland. The village is not only blessed with wonderful architecture, but also with a beautiful location on the banks of the River Lennon.

Within this setting there is a busy village with many facilities for you to enjoy during your visit. The recently renovated Town Hall is the venue for a variety of entertainment including concerts and stage plays. The weekly Country Market is renowned for fresh vegetables, home baking and local handcrafted gifts. Located along the beautiful quay is the building that houses The Ramelton Heritage Centre and Donegal Ancestry - the latter enabling you to trace your Donegal ancestors. In addition to the Bridge Bar there are a number of other quaint pubs in the village

There are numerous scenic drives within half an hours drive of the holiday home - including the spectacular Knockalla Coast Road and the breathtaking Atlantic Drive.  Within a  20 mile radius there are 4 top class golf courses - Rosapenna, Portsalon, Dunfanaghy and Letterkenny.

The holiday home is about a 20-minute drive away from Letterkenny – County Donegal's main town. This busy town has everything you would expect to find in a modern urban centre – cinemas, theatre, indoor play centres, swimming pool, town park, shopping centres and night clubs

Day Trips

Within an hours drive of the holiday home you will find the majestic Glenveagh National Park, the Dunlewy Lakeside Activity Centre, Ards Forest Park and the ancient walled City of Derry.
