Annie's Cottage - Churchill

Located on the shores of Gartan Lake, Annie's Cottage is a traditional timber clad (interior) fishing lodge complete with garage facilities for storage and free access to fishing boat/oars and fishing gear. There is a large lawn area surrounding the cottage with orchard area to the rear. The location makes it an excellent base for touring and sightseeing - 3kms from Glenveagh, 1km from Gartan Outdoor facility and 2kms from the village of Churchill.

Letterkenny, Donegal's largest town with its shops, cinema theatre and lively nightlife is 7km to the east. This cottage is very much traditional in character and is ideal for a relaxing summer getaway, a base for a fishing holiday or for those wishing for an adventure filled break (hill walking, kayaking etc)

The three pubs in Churchill, about 2kms from the house, provide music and entertainment, traditional and modern, on both midweek and week-end nights. Most villages and towns hold annual festivals during the summer months.

Glenveagh National Park

Glenveagh National Park in the Derryveagh Mountains is the jewel in the crown of Donegal tourism. This magnificent park lies just to the north of Churchill and contains 14,000 hectares of lakes, mountains, raised bogland and woodland. The golden eagle has been reintroduced into the park in recent years. Other birds that can be seen include grouse, ravens, redstarts, stonechats and wood warblers. The park has the largest herd of red deer in Ireland and also features foxes, badgers, hares and stoats. The 19th century Glenveagh Castle on the shores of Lough Veagh is open to the public throughout the tourist season.

• Glenveigh National Park: A 10 minute drive away from the holiday home this magnificent national park is home to herds of red deer and golden eagles

• Gartan Outdoor Pursuits Centre: Situated on the shores of Loch Gartan this is a very popular destination for adventure holiday enthusiasts.

• Glebe House and Gallery: Located next door.This is a Regency house built in 1828 set in woodland and decorated with William Morris textiles, Islamic and Japanese art. The renowned Derek Hill Art Collection is housed here

• Ards Forest Park:  One of the most beautiful and most varied of Ireland's forest parks. Bays, rivers, loughs, beaches, valleys, viewing points, deer enclosures and historic monuments are woven together by a series of fascinating nature trails

• Newmills Corn and Flax Mills: Situated on the Glenties Road out of Letterkenny the mills contain the largest working waterwheels in Ireland.

• Letterkenny Aura Leisure Centre: This excellently equipped leisure centre includes a gym, a health suite, 25 metre pool and learner pool, kiddie's fun pool and 2 twister adventure water slides
