The Arts Festival continues its great tradition of providing Donegal audiences with brilliant outdoor events in spectacular locations around the county that are suitable for all ages. The Festival now attracts over 25,000 people from Ireland and abroad, as its reputation as one of Ireland’s finest cultural events continues to grow. Last year the festival generated approximately €2m for the local economy – a huge boost to tourism throughout the Northwest.
The Earagail Arts Festival provides a unique and magical blend of over 80 events and installations. These take place at numerous venues across Donegal – venues that range from An Grianan Theatre to Magheroary Beach and from Ards Forest Park to Letterkenny’s main street. During the festival, events are held in towns and villages from Inishowen to Dungloe and from Killybegs to Falcarragh. In this way it reflects the unique character and demographic of the county. The festival also provides an opportunity for the community to engage in the arts through skills development outreach projects. It is also a key platform for the development of Donegal artists and those pursuing a career in arts and crafts.
Each year the Earagail Arts Festival programme is a wonderful mix of music, theatre, outdoor family shows, children’s events, exhibitions and films. The festival strives to present innovative and exciting work from the best of established international, national and local artists.
