The Sl\u00ed na Rosann section is a 65km circular route covering much of the Rosses area, which lies between the western slopes  of the Derryveagh Mountains and the rugged Atlantic coast<\/p>\n<p><strong>W:<\/strong> www.walkireland.ie<\/p>\n<p>[nggallery id=33]<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a title=\"Holiday Homes in Annagry\" href=\"http:\/\/www.donegalcottageholidays.com\/towns\/holiday-cottage-annagry.php\">Holiday Homes in Annagry<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Rossses is a dramatic, rock-strewn landscape dotted with more than a hundred small lakes. Sl\u00ed na Rosann brings walkers through this beautiful and often harsh landscape, passing on its way through the town of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.donegalcottageholidays.com\/blog\/dungloe\/\" title=\"Dungloe Self Catering\">Dungloe<\/a>, the fishing harbour of Burtonport and the villages of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.donegalcottageholidays.com\/blog\/annagry\/\" title=\"Annagry Self Catering\">Annagry<\/a>, Crolly and  Maghery.<\/p>\n<p>The terrain on the Sl\u00ed na Rossan  consists mainly of lanes, some  open ground which can be very wet, and quiet country roads that meander across open country. However, there are also some busier roads so care is needed. Some parts of the route, particularly that between Maghery and Crolly are quite remote<\/p>\n<p>The  ascent over the entire route of Sl\u00ed na Rossan is 770 metres, with no significant climbs. The distance is 65km and the waymarked way grading is moderate.<strong><br \/>\nOutline of Main Route<\/strong><br \/>\nDungloe &#8211;\u00a0 Burtonport &#8211; Annagry &#8211;\u00a0 Crolly &#8211; Maghery &#8211; Dungloe<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Links to Sl\u00ed an Earagail and Sl\u00ed na Finne<\/h3>\n<p>The route connects from the village of Crolly with  Sl\u00ed an Earagail, by way of a 4.5 km link that is partly on a busy road. There is also a 22 km link from Crovehy on the route, via the tiny village of Doochary, to Sl\u00ed na Finne with an aggregate ascent of 550 metres. This link is on side roads, forest and bog roads and open moorland, which is often very wet.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Sl\u00ed \u00c1rainn Mh\u00f3r<\/h3>\n<p>Among the many offshore islands visible from  Sl\u00ed na Rosann is the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.donegalcottageholidays.com\/blog\/aranmore-island-county-donegal\/\" title=\"Aranmore Island Donegal\">inhabitated island of Aranmore<\/a>, which is accessible by ferry from Burtonport all year round.<\/p>\n<p>The  15km walk around Aranmore circles the island on roads and bog roads. The route is signposted as Sl\u00ed \u00c1rainn Mh\u00f3r and begins and ends at the Ferry port.
