Sl\u00ed na Finne Donegal<\/p><\/div>\n

Sl\u00ed na Finne Donegal<\/strong> is a 42 km long circular section of the 280km Sl\u00ed Dh\u00fan na nGall that loops through the mountains and glens of central Donegal touching on Lough Finn and the banks of the River Finn, This Waymarked Way takes in the villages of Fintown, Cloughan and Comeen. It also takes in and what County Donegal is best for, its wilderness, mountains, valleys, rivers, and lakes.<\/p>\n

Terrain along Sl\u00ed na Finne consists of forestry tracks, riverside paths, field and moorland paths, quiet roads and part of an old railway track: the walker can expect the off-road sections to be wet and boggy. On the sections away from the villages and roads there is a real sense of remoteness, where the walker may encounter deer wandering out from the National Park at Glenveigh.
\nOver the whole route there is a total aggregate ascent of 980 metres The Waymarked Way grade is moderate.

There is a 22 km link from the route via the village of Doochary to another of the Donegal Gaeltacht walking routes, Sl\u00ed na Rosann, with an aggregate ascent of 550 metres. This spectacular walk takes you through some of Donegal’s finest woodland walking and a modest climb just north of Fintown gives spectacular views across the surrounding countryside.The link is on side roads, forest and bog roads and open moorland, which is often very wet.<\/p>\n
