Kealy's Seafood Bar in Greencastle has scooped the prestigious title of Seafood Circle Seafood Bar of the Year 2010. The awards, organised by the Georgina Campbell Guide, were sponsored by Bord Iascaigh Mhara (BIM). Trish Kealy commented \"I have wonderfully loyal staff and customers. I have the same people coming here for years and at this stage they are more like friends than customers. To be honest, without them, Kealy's just wouldn't exist.\" The latest award is a double delight for the Greencastle seafood eaterie which this year celebrates 20 years in business.<\/p>

It\u2019s a low-key little place where simplicity has always been valued and, even if it\u2019s just to pop in for a daytime bowl of Tricia Kealy\u2019s Greencastle chowder and some home-baked brown bread, don\u2019t miss the opportunity of a visit to Kealys - if we did an award for seafood chowder, Kealys would take the prize!<\/p>
The approach to seafood is creative and balanced, seen in dishes, which are modern in tone but also echo traditional Irish themes, and in which delicious local organic vegetables are used with fish to make the most of both precious resources.<\/p>

Myself and my partner have just returned from a break in the Redcastle Hotel, we were blessed to find this lovely restaurant.<\/p>
We love food and have been to some of the top restaurants in the world but this is a charming seafood bar and would rival the best of them. We had a lovely meal of mussels, quid, haddock and lemon sole. All of it cooked to perfection. The attention to detail was good, including the sorbet and homemade chocolates. 3 courses and a bottle of wine cost \u20ac60!!<\/p>
Best of all, we were delighted to find a traditional session in progress in the bar which really added to the atmosphere.
