It is recommended that the visitor concentrate on a locality rather than try to cover the whole county in a day.<\/p>\n<p>Visitors to the garden trail will find a wide variety of gardens, large and small, old and new, all successfully coping with the county\u2019s changing climate and natural topography. The gardens that make up the trail, stretching from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.donegalcottageholidays.com\/inishowen-holiday-homes.htm\" title=\"Holiday Homes in Inishowen\">Inishowen<\/a> to Killybegs, offer a variety of planting and horticultural treasures, stone paths and streams, and tapestries of colour and texture.<\/p>\n<p>If you can visit only a few gardens on the Donegal Garden Trail, you will find a wealth of devoted garden owners, botanical surprises everywhere and wonderful displays of individuality in planting schemes. And come prepared, organisers say. The weather shouldn\u2019t stop anyone from enjoying the pleasures of a beautiful garden, but good footwear will go a long way to ensuring visitors can make the most of their garden travels.<\/p>\n<p>Please note that the gardens open at different times and that some are open for short periods only. Others such as Glenveagh, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.donegalcottageholidays.com\/blog\/oakfield-park-gardens-raphoe\/\" title=\"Oakfield Park Gardens Donegal\">Oakfield Park<\/a>, St. Columbs, the Celtic Garden and Salthill are open for extended periods.
