Restored Cottage with Riverside Setting

The holiday home is a recently renovated 200 year old cottage situated in Donegal’s Culdaff village, right on the Culdaff river. It has three bedrooms and sleeps 7 comfortably. The property is on a large site which has two holiday homes and some stone out-houses. There is a generous garden which is bordered by the Culdaff river (caution if you have young children).

Culdaff is on the North Coast of Donegal in the Republic of Ireland. The Culdaff beach is clean and monitored by lifeguards during the daytime. It is an ideal family beach with beautiful views and high sand dunes. The village is very close to the breathtaking Malin Head and loads of beautiful beaches, hills and mountains.

So whether you want a relaxing Irish village holiday, to play golf, go fishing, hill walking, swimming or just relaxing with friends and enjoying the food and music at the McGrory’s hotel, then Culdaff is the place for you.

Local Activities / Attractions

  • Take a trip around the famous Inishowen 100 This is one of Ireland's most scenic drives. The route includes dramatic coastal scenery plus a fine collection of ancient forts and monuments, traditional craft centres, and a dozen or so friendly villages. Scenic highlights include the Gap of Mamore, and Malin Head -  Ireland's most northerly point
  • Go sea angling from Culdaff. The Inishowen Boating Company operates 2 purpose built fast charter boats from Bunagee Pier Culdaff  . These fully licenced vessels offer sea angling and sight seeing on Lough Foyle
  • Play golf on the the internationally renowned Ballyliffin Golf Club - just 15 km from the holiday home. Other fine golf courses on the Inishowen Peninsula can be found at Greencastle, Buncrana and Redcastle.
  • Go pony trekking from a number of Equestrian Centres in and around Malin Town
  • Visit the Doagh Visitor Centre. This centre provides a great variety of exhibitions telling the story of the Irish Famine. It is also a place where the local customs, traditions, folklore and history of the Inishowen Peninsula are preserved in a permanent way
  • Enjoy beautiful unspoilt beaches on the Inishowen Peninsula – Culdaff,  Five Finger Strand near Malin and Shrove
  • Visit the Fort and Military Museum at Dunree.

The cottage kitchen forms part of the open plan ground floor. The kitchen feaures modern fitted units. Appliances available include electric oven, microwave and fridge with ice-box. An adjacent dining area has a table and 6 chairs.

The living area has a  multi fuel stove fire as a focal point - the stove also heats the radiators. The area has comfortable sofa furniture.

There is a shower room with shower, sink and toilet.

The holiday cottage has a large mature garden with trees.  The garden is on the Culdaff river which is very beautiful and a popular location for fishing.

A note of caution:
People with  with very young children should note that the river is tidal and can be fast flowing and deep.
