Inishbofin Cottage - Gortahork

Inishbofin Cottage is located a hillside overlooking the vast Atlantic Ocean along the way to the ‘back beach’. It is an  ideal setting to get away from modern life with almost no vehicles on the Island to disturb the peacefulness and sound of the Ocean. Although Inishbofin Cottage is a modern cottage, which has recently been restored to include all mod cons, it still holds on to its authenticity and old charm.

On the ground floor there is a kitchen, living room, twin bedroom, double bedroom and bathroom. Upstairs there are two larger bedrooms – one twin and one double. There is also a large bathroom.

Island of Inishbofin

The island of Inishbofin is small with no Islanders residing on the Island all year around. Instead they arrive ‘home’ during the summer months and provide a friendly welcome to visitors.

The pier at the front of Inishbofin provides the gateway into Inishbofin and leads you towards the ‘Main Street’ and Chapel. At the back of the Island lies the sheltered and secluded ‘back beach’ which provides white sand and crystal clear waters – a true hidden gem!

It should be remembered that there are no shops, bars or restaurants on Inishbofin so visitors need to ensure they have enough provisions to last the duration of their stay!
