'Llamedos' is a compact bungalow with three bedrooms to sleep up to six. It consists of an open plan interior supported by a central stone built open fireplace, which includes the front lounge and the rear kitchen and dining area. The three bedrooms and bathroom are separate rooms to allow privacy, and there are sea views from all the bedrooms and the lounge.
The cottage has all the modern conveniences, including oil fired central heating, TV with DVD, and a fully fitted kitchen with a dishwasher.
Outside, the property is landscaped, and has a gravelled front which can serve for parking or as a patio area. There are fabulous panoramic coastal views over Belall Strand and Donegal Bay.
The cottage is situated on an elevation on the lower slopes of Ardeelan Hill, overlooking Donegal Bay and the distant Blue Stack Mountains, and is right in the heart of Rossnowlagh. It is perfectly situated with a location that offers sea views, and is within a two to three minute walk of the waters edge.
Rossnowlagh has become very popular, and there are a number of new holiday cottages, mobile homes and caravan sites in the area. A local grocery shop, which will provide essentials like milk, bread and other 'convenience foods' is a minutes walk away. A short drive to the nearest village, Ballintra, you will find a Spar and another shop that should offer more variety.
The Sand House Hotel is within view, and if you don't fancy cooking, try one of their restaurants. The popular Surfers Bar is just on the side of the Hotel, and there is The Smugglers Creek bar & restaurant overlooking the cliff, The Thatch Tea House near the Franciscan Friary, and a few more pubs in Ballintra.
Rossnowlagh is a seaside resort located in County Donegal, in the north-west of Ireland. It is situated about 6km south west of Ballintra, 8 km north of Ballyshannon and 16 km south west of Donegal Town. The extensive beach is very popular with families and is frequented by walkers, surfers, wind-surfers, kite-surfers and swimmers, and there are lifeguards on duty during the summer months. There is about four km of a good quality sand beach.
Rossnowlagh is one of Ireland's - and Europe's - best Blue Flag, surfing beaches. As it faces westward into the Atlantic Ocean, and the fact that Donegal Bay's funnel shape can increase the size of the rollers, especially in winter, some huge waves are generated and it has been known to have rollers up to 7 m high. Rossnowlagh has good facilities, a fine-sand beach and excellent water quality.
A nearby Franciscan friary has a visitors centre and the Donegal Historical Society Museum which houses a small collection including stone age flints and old Irish musical instruments. There are beautiful gardens which are open to visitors.
Apart from swimming and surfing, other activities may include Horse riding, walking and golf. The Donegal Golf Club is situated nearby at Murvagh, and is described as the 'Muirfield' of Ireland
The kitchen and dining area are located to the rear of the bungalow. Fittings consist of modern kitchen storage units on a ceramic tiled floor, with appliances which include a stainless steel sink, electric hob and oven, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, kettle, toaster, and essential crockery, cutlery and cookware.
The dining area is positioned behind the central fireplace, and includes an oval table with six matching Windsor style chairs.
Electricity is metered.
The interior of the holiday bungalow is a spacious open plan area with a central stone fireplace as the main feature, and the lounge, kitchen and dining area all share this space.
The lounge area is at the front entrance, with furnishings that include a coffee table and a modular L shaped brown leather corner couch that should comfortably seat four or five. There is also a wall mounted flat screen TV with DVD.
Fabulous coastal views are afforded from the windows, and oil fired central heating is included.
There are three separate bedrooms to sleep six.
All the bedrooms have double beds and sea views, and one of them has a separate shower.
Bed linen is supplied
The fireplace, is at the centre of the living area interior. It is an impressive stone built, open fireplace around which the rest of the cottage is supported. (The hearth or heart of the home.) Viewed from the lounge area, the kitchen, dining area and bathroom are positioned at the rear of the dwelling, while the three bedrooms are on the side.
Bathroom:
There is a single bathroom which has a bath, basin, toilet and an over the bath shower.
Another separate shower is in one of the bedrooms.
Please bring own towels.
