Macalla Cottage Gweedore is a 4 Star Fáilte Ireland approved traditional cottage located in the picturesque Gaeltacht village of Crolly which lies along the route of Ireland's Wild Atlantic Way. The cottage nestles between the mountains and the sea. The quaint ambience of this unique cottage will help you unwind and drift back in time as you relax in front of the cosy open fire.

A Romantic Traditional Cottage

Macalla Cottage has been meticulously renovated by the owner and his son in a true labour of love. The cottage now consists of three bedrooms (one en-suite) fully fitted kitchen with all mod cons, a spacious dining room and relaxing sitting room. The original flagstone floors in the sitting room and dining room together with the open turf fire create a quaint and inviting atmosphere.  Perhaps it is unsurprising that this getaway romantic cottage has been featured in the property section of the New York Times. Macalla Cottage has retained its old world charm while at the same time affording guests the comfort and luxury of modern day homes - including WiFi.

Macalla Cottage is situated in Gweedore - one of Irelands largest Gaeltacht areas. Staying at the cottage will enable the visitor to absorb the culture and heritage of this unique region where Irish is still the main everyday language. Gweedore also has some of the most breathtaking scenery in Ireland, with views of the Atlantic Coastline, Coastal Islands and the Derryveagh mountains all on your doorstep.

Macalla cottage is only 10 minutes drive away from Donegal International Airport, which operate flights from Dublin and Glasgow
