Port na Ling is a superb 4 bedroom holiday home located beside a beautiful secluded sandy beach with stunning views of the rugged northern coastline of the Fanad Peninsula. The holiday home provides a true getaway from the hustle and bustle of modern life- the narrow local roads which wind their between low stone walls help to ensure a slower pace of life and are ideal for walking and cycling.
The holiday home is literally across the road from a small sandy beach that lies on a narrow inlet. The remnants of an old harbour are a reminder that this inlet was once a haven for boats taking shelter from the wild north Atlantic Ocean just a few hundred yards away. Indeed the entire northern coastline of the Fanad Peninsula is dotted with small inlets and sandy coves hewn out by the Atlantic waves. At Ballyhiernan Bay, just 2km from the holiday home, the waves played their part in creating a beautiful 3km long strand that has become a popular surfing beach with a well established surf School – The Adventure One Surf School (ISA approved)
For the keen golfer Port na Ling is ideally located between two of the finest links courses in the North West of Ireland. The two superb links courses at Rosapenna Golf Club are 15km away via the Mulroy Bridge and the wonderful Portsalon Golf Club is a 12 km drive along the shores of Lough Swilly. Superb beaches are located beside both golf clubs.
Sea Fishing is also popular in this part of the Fanad Peninsula. The holiday home is close to Ballywhorisky Pier and several other small harbours. Fishing off the rocks close to the dramatic Fanad Lighthouse is well worthwhile. Trout angling is available at nearby Kindrum Lough and also at the Meadows Trout Fishery in Rossnakill (12km).
With the opening of the Mulroy Bridge Port na Ling is now an ideal base to explore two of Irelands most beautiful peninsula’s – Fanad and Rosguill. The Rosguill peninsula has two popular holiday resorts – Carrigart and Downings – and an abundance of beaches including Tramore, Melmore, Tra na Rossan and Downings. The famous Atlantic Drive around the peninsula offers breathtaking scenery. The route is relatively short and is ideal for the keen walker or cyclist. On the Fanad Peninsula there is the dramatic Fanad Lighthouse and Fanad Head, Portsalon Blue Flag Beach, the spectacular Knockalla coast road and the holiday resorts of Rathmullan, Kerrykeel and Portsalon.
The bright living room enjoys stunning views over the rugged coastline at Ballywhoriskey - the large windows along with the glass patio doors maximise this wonderful vista. The living room itself has a natural wood floor and an open fireplace. For home entertainment there is a tv and dvd player. All rooms at ground level have underfloor heating.
The kitchen along with adjacent dining area has a tiled floor. The stylish kitchen has a mixture of fitted and free standing units. Appliances available include a dual gas - electric oven and hob, dishwasher, microwave and fridge freezer. The dining area has a table and 8 chairs.
An atttractive feature of the holiday home is the second living space adjacent to the kitchen and dining area. This comfortably furnished area has a tv and a solid fuel stove. Like all areas to the front of the house it enjoys stunning sea views.

Congratulations on an absolutely wonderful site! I was going crazy researching availability on other sites - that did not state price, no. of rooms, bathroom facilities often (even after clicking three or four links) and also did not follow a pattern for each entry. Your site is delightful. I could go through all pages of entries and with the price details given immediately did not need to waste time over entries not within my budget.
