“The Snug” offers 2 separate luxury holiday apartments located off the Main Street in Dunkineely . This is a lovely seaside location with great beaches, stunning scenery and opportunities for enjoying outdoor activities. From the house there are wonderful views of the sea and mountains ( and an island!) .
In our renovations we have provided a 2-bed unit upstairs and a completely separate 1-bed unit downstairs. Entrances are at opposite ends of the property. Both offer a very high standard of pet friendly holiday accommodation in a wonderful location.
Dunkineely has a coastal setting in South Donegal on the road between Donegal Town and Killybegs and the holiday apartments enjoys fantastic sea views. Dunkineely is also situated at the entrance to the dramatic St John’s Peninsula that juts out into Donegal Bay.
The Snug is 5km from Inver, 8 km from the busy seaside town of Killybegs, 12 km from Mountcharles, 16 km from historic Donegal Town and 19km from the Heritage Town of Ardara. It is an ideal base to tour the magnificent scenery of South West Donegal. The holiday home is also within an hours drive of Letterkenny, Glenveigh National Park, 'Yeats Country' in Sligo and the Fermanagh Lakelands.
There are a number of excellent restaurants throughout the locality including the award winning Castle Murray House Hotel. The holiday home is 1km away from this fine hotel which also makes it an attractive accommodation option for those attending weddings in this popular establishment
The holidayapartments are surrounded by peaceful country roads and lanes – making it ideal walking, jogging and cycling terrain. Lying to the north of the holiday home are the Bluestack Mountains, which occupy most of central and south west Donegal. The Bluestack Way passes through this mountain range. This is a Waymarked Way, designed to traverse the Bluestacks using existing roadways, paths and tracks to lead the walkers through the mountains in a safe and sustainable manner.
The holiday accommodation has a bright and cosy living area with very comfortable furniture and sea views with Benbulben in Sligo in the distance. For home entertainment there is WIFI, TV, DVD player and a CD radio. There is also a selection of games and books.
The kitchen area has a full range of appliances including an electric oven and gas hob, microwave, dishwasher, coffee maker and fridge freezer. A washing machine is also available. There are plenty of good quality pots / pans and dishes / cutlery - hopefully we have thought of everything you could possibly need for home dining.
The dining area has table and 4 chairs and lots of local pictures adorn the walls to give you ideas for places to visit.

"We have just recently returned from our stay at The Snug and had a fantastic time. We found the house very comfortable and equipped with everything you could possibly need. The views from the back of the house are fantastic and the children loved playing in the large garden. The village of Dunkineely is lovely and an ideal base - close to the beautiful beach at St John's Point and also near to Killybegs and Donegal town where there is lots to see and do. Shelia was really accommodating (providing a travel cot at short notice) and a pleasure to deal with. We would highly recommend The Snug and look forward to returning soon".
