    Hi Paul,

We've just had a lovely week's stay at 10 Oceanview Cottages, which met our needs perfectly - comfortable well equipped house, beautiful views from the front out over the bay, & an easy short walk to the beach, the village and all its facilities. The leisure centre, with an excellent swimming pool, is a 5 minute walk from the house - great for a rainy day! This is a beautiful area of Donegal with no shortage of interesting sights and activities.

The Snug is a fantastic place to stay in Dunkineely. Firstly, the accommodation is meticulously clean, has a lovely garden and sea views from the living room and back bedroom. We had a fabulous week there and Sheila has a great folder to browse through if you are looking at things to do, places to visit and eat etc – a guide in itself. The location is great as it is close to Donegal town , Killibegs and Glenties. And don’t forget the highest cliffs in Europe, Sliabh League – truly magnificent on a beautiful day. If you are eating out then “a must do” is the Castlemurray Hotel as “a treat”. In the village itself both Macs Bar and McIntyres are great places to get to know the locals – that’s if they don’t get to know you first!!! We had a great trad night in McIntyres so much so we didn’t want to leave! So all in all The Snug is aptly named and the location spoils you bigtime – we can’t recommend it enough.

Beautiful village, beaches, scenery, what's not to like?  Thanks for a wonderful week here in Dunfanaghy.  Hope to see you again next year.

Lovely cottage with great views in a beautiful part of the country. Couldn’t have asked for more.

We have just spent a few days on a family holiday in Donegal. The weather was great (ok, so it rained a bit but we were indoors so it didn not count) and the craic was great, but the best bit, by far, was staying in a 200 year old cottage. Crucknamara Cottage is just outside Downings. It is small but perfectly formed, having been renovated to retain its fabulous character.

Driving through the surrounding countryside I was struck at how many new "cottages" have been built, which further enhances Crucknamaras uniqueness. We entertained ourselves on the nearby beach, with a visit to Glenveagh Castle and a short tour of the Atlantic Drive.

But back to the cottage. There are two bedrooms, a living room, bathroom and roomy kitchen with all mod cons. Wood burning stoves and an open fire were set for our arrival, with bread milk and, of course, tea, provided. The garden is packed with wild flowers and the hedge is full of bright pink fuchsia. I can not recommend this cottage highly enough for somewhere to stay if you fancy either some peace and quiet or a family break. We can not wait to go back.

We loved our week on the Inishowen Peninsula! Londonderry became very familiar; we did a circumnavigation of the peninsula and drove down to the Rosses. The best thing of all was the people we met in the pubs . . . so friendly and warm. Oh, we crossed over on the ferry, too. Thank you so much! Your house is wonderful and I enjoyed the area so much! People here are so kind and friendly, just like southern hospitality!

It’s the last day of our holidays. We have had a lovely comfortable stay in this great holiday home. It’s been our 2nd year stay in this house and hopefully we will be back again. Very suitable for a family.

A few of the things we have done during our stay:

    ·      Went to the close-by beach (Tra Na Rossan)

    ·      Downings Beach

    ·      Dunlewy Centre, great for younger children

    ·      Ards Friary , great for a walk and discovered a lovely beach at it, great views.

    ·      Dunfanaghy , the Workhouse and play park

    ·      Horse riding in Carrigart , very good.

    ·      Went to Singing Pub most nights. Had a lovely meal there.

    ·      Had a special treat nearly every day at McNutts  (Downings Pier)

    ·      Mickey Joe’s supermarket has all your needs and reasonable.

    Thank You!

Paul, Carmel, Conall, Ross & Oran Gribben.
