Cup of Tae Festival, Ardara

The Cup of Tae Festival takes place annually in the Heritage Town of Ardara on the May Bank Holiday Weekend. It is one of the best and most popular traditional music festivals in the north west of Ireland. The festival features the top class musicians in traditional music with workshops and schools of music. Each year the event honours a local musician or group of musicians who have made major contributions to the music scene in the wider Ardara area.

At the festival you will find traditional music in all the pubs during the three day event as well as street session involving musicians from Ireland and overseas. Schools of music are a big feature on the Saturday and Sunday with expert tuition from top quality teachers in fiddle, flute, whistle, guitar, singing and accordion.
There are concerts on both Friday and Saturday nights which feature the best in traditional music. The concerts allows the  main festival guest to invite their favourite musicians to play in his  or her honour. Registration for the famous schools of music also takes place on Friday night and Saturday morning.
The festival is open to anyone, with no limit on number who can attend.  It is a mix of free and ticketed  events and suitable for families with young children.
