Falcarragh Self Catering

Falcarragh Self Catering – Falcarragh or Cross Roads (Fal Carrach or An Falcarragh in Irish) is situated on a narrow inlet of Ballyness Bay and has a population of 990 people (2002). The town has a beautiful setting and is also within easy reach of some of Donegal’s most spectacular scenery. There are a number of islands lying off Ballyness Bay. The largest of these is Tory Island which is still inhabited.

Scenery in the Falcarragh area is second to none. View two of Donegal’s most famous mountains, Muckish and Errigal or walk its miles of golden beaches. The spectacular sea cliffs at Horn Head and Glenveagh National Park are just a short drive away. The islands of Tory and Inisboffin can be seen from the coast, both of which are accessible from Magheroarty Pier nearby. Falcarragh is an ideal base from which to tour North West Donegal.

All around Falcarragh you will find rugged peninsulas, clean beaches and towering mountains. West Donegal is famous for its natural beauty – from the majesty of Glenveagh National Park to the wild Atlantic views along the Rosses and Gweedore coastline. Errigal and the Derryveagh Mountains are only 15 minutes drive away. The Dunlewey Lakeside Centre is a similar distance by car and boasts an exciting historical display of local crafts, trips on the lake, play facilities for children and pony trekking.
