The Inishowen Vintage Show 2013 promises to be its best yet. Now in its 12th year the event has become a highlight of the summer calendar in Donegal. The event is held in Moville which is a quaint little coastal town which lays on the Inishowen Peninsula in Co Donegal.
The first event of this kind happened in 2002 and it has grown to become one of the most popular festivals in the North.
The Inishowen Vintage Show 2013 will take place between the 6th and 9th June with a stellar bill already announced. Irish country sensation Nathan Carter will headline the marquee on the opening night of the festival. The critically acclaimed star has been playing sold out venues for the past few years and it is something of a coup for the Inishowen Vintage Show to book Nathan, who has amassed a total of 18 top country music awards.
More acts and headliners are due to be added to what is always an ever stellar line up. Saturday will also play host to the widely popular barbeque live which is a hit with locals and visitors alike. The main event itself takes place on Sunday with the vintage show. Motor enthusiasts of any type are advised to make the trip to Moville this summer as they promise a greatest showcase of vintage tractors, machinery, trucks and cars.
The Inishowen Vintage Festival attracts thousands of visitors each year and hosts hundreds of exhibits for revellers to enjoy. It caters for everyone and visitors get the chance to encounter a real rural Irish experience, previous years have seen fun events such as butter churning, steam threshing, slow racing, barrel pushing and even a digger driving competition.
There is fun for the whole family at the Inishowen Festival 2013 with several trade stands catering for all types as well as a fun fair, bouncy castles and slides.
There is much more besides the festival to be marvelled at in Moville. The coastal resort is home to some of Donegal’s finest beaches as well as an old Victorian park by the seaside which delivers breath-taking views.
A fun packed, family friendly weekend in one of the most scenic parts of Donegal is not to be missed.
