Seisiún Thir Chonaill, Dungloe
Seisiún Thir Chonaill is a unique Irish festive weekend of trad sessions, workshops and live music and dance of the highest standard. The festival centers around a Pub Session Competition, which takes place in the town of Dungloe. This great annual event runs over the June Bank Holiday weekend.

Festival Format
All Sessions are held in a regular pub environment without amplification. The sessions are held in the Pubs of Dungloe. Each group plays 2 x 1/2 hour sessions in 2 different pubs either on Saturday afternoon/evening or Sunday afternoon. There are two judging pubs and 4 session practice pubs. Competition sessions do not take place after 9pm in the evening. Night time sessions are open and all musicians are welcome.
Finalists play a short set on the Main Street platform on Sunday afternoon (around 5pm) where winners will be announced and prizes are presented. This is followed by an open air Ceili with all musicians joining in.

A number of workshops in music and dance normally take place during the festival including workshops in flute, bodhran, accordion, concertina, fiddle and seán-nós dancing. There is also a range of festive fun events throughout the weekend.
