The Seaside Village of Rathmullan
Rathmullan, scene of The Flight of the Earls in 1607, is located on the western shores of Lough Swilly and looks across its waters towards the hills of Inishowen.
It has a 3km long sandy beach and is popular with walkers throughout the year. Park at the shorefront car park, and enjoy the stroll along by the lough edge, passing Rathmullan House along the route. By the car park there is a new fully equipped childrens playground and just beyond that, the sculpture by John Behan commemorating the Flight of the Earls.
