Bundoran Golf Club Donegal – a wonderful 18 hole golf course laid out in two loops of nine around the landmark Great Northern Hotel with the 9th and 18th greens close to the clubhouse. The course covers an area of 130 acres of  mixed parkland and links terrain.

A Brief History

The course was originally designed in 1894 by G.L. Baillie with later additions by C S Burthart. In 1927, Harry Vardon, 6 times British Open Champion was invited to plan design changes to bring the course up to championship standards.In 1936, there was a course extension including the building of the current 2nd, 3rd and 6th holes. Between the years of 1951 and 1957,  the renowned Christy O’ Connor Senior was the club professional.

The Course

Set in a dramatic setting along the scenic Donegal Bay coastline the Bundoran Golf Club presents a challenging par 70 with a mixture of dunes and undulating terrain making up the 18 holes. With views of the Atlantic Ocean to the west and the magnificent Dartry Mountains to the south, the golfer is blessed with superb panoramic views no matter what hole is being played.

Bundoran has a fine clubhouse, where visitors are always welcome, with full catering facilities, lounge bar and golf shop, PGA Professional David Robinson will stock you up before your round, or can book lessons in advance.
