The main aims of the Rathmullan Sailing and Watersports School is to provide people with a fun, safe, and exciting environment for participating in watersports and to make that participation as affordable as possible. The club itself is based beside Rathmullan Pier on the shores of Lough Swilly. The waters of Lough Swilly provide ideal conditions for training in various watersports. The lough is small enough for beginners to feel comfortable getting on the water, and big enough for the more advanced to explore and test their skills.
Facilities
The club provides all essential gear for each of the courses that are run. At the moment the clubs fleet consists of 6 Laser Picos, 2 Laser Bahias, 6 sea kayaks, and a 5m Humber RIB that serves as the safety boat. From wetsuits to flotation devices, paddles to helmets, the club provides all the equipment needed to participate in any of the courses. Classroom-based activities operate out of the Rathmullan and District Resource Centre, a stones throw from Rathmullan’s beautiful sandy beach. The Resource Centre also houses the changing rooms and showers used by course participants.
