Ramelton County Donegal

Ramelton Holiday Homes

Ramelton is located 7 miles north of Letterkenny at the mouth of the River Leannan, famed for it’s superb salmon fishing.

The Old Meeting House where the County Genealogical Centre is located is one of the oldest Presbyterian churches in Ireland. With over 4 million people owing their ancestry to Donegal, the Genealogical Centre is a must for those trying to trace their elusive ancestors. Killydonnell Abbey, founded by the O’Donnells in the 16th century, is a few miles from the village.

The village also has a lively music scene centered on the Bridge Bar – a great place to spend an evening.

Proximity to Letterkenny, Donegal’s main town, makes Ramelton an ideal spot for exploring the natural beauties of the county while still being close to theatre, cinemas, swimming pool, shopping etc. The nearest beach to Ramelton is just a 7min drive away in Rathmullan.
